  F.F.H.S. and ARCHIVE REPORT

As usual The Federation of Family History Societies has sent various correspondence over the year. Main items: Memorandum and new Articles of Association of FFHS, which will be called “The Company” listing charitable means, principal objects and powers..

Notices of the Family History Show in Westminster 2005.
Family History News & Digest April 2005.
Various books and information from FFHS – these items are available and can be taken by members present for a donation to be placed in the pot, which will be placed in the funds.

Item on Civil Registration March 2005. There is great difficulty with Registration services – three companies have offered to transcribe all data but all these companies will centre their base in India and the FFHS is not happy with these arrangements. They are hoping the G.R.O. will consider providing mother's maiden name for Births and surnames of spouses of marriages in the records from 1837-1911 and ages of death 1837-1865.

FFHS AGM was held at Loughborough University, Leicestershire.

Chris has continued to supply various items for the Archives

I will continue to represent our Society in the future.
